What We Do

Equipping, Empowering, Transforming Lives in Sri Lanka

At Pledge To Restore Foundation, we deliver impactful, sustainable projects that address the lasting effects of poverty in Sri Lanka’s North and East regions. Our work targets underprivileged communities, displaced families, women-led households, youth, children, and persons with disabilities, fostering resilience, self-sufficiency, and hope through community-driven initiatives.

Key Focus Areas

Women & Child Protection and Empowerment

We provide safe homes, counselling, leadership training, and skills development for survivors
of violence and displacement. Our women empowerment programs include vocational
training and entrepreneurship support, enabling women-led families to build brighter futures.

Education for All

We support schools in advancing education by improving facilities and providing targeted
funding to help school administrations address priority infrastructure and operational needs.
By making quality education more accessible, we empower the next generation and
contribute to a stronger, more resilient community with an improved quality of life.

Disability Rehabilitation & Inclusion

We partner with organisations that deliver specialised physiotherapy, mobility aids, inclusive vocational training, and rehabilitation services, ensuring that persons with disabilities can live with dignity and actively participate in social and economic life.

Sustainable Livelihoods & Economic Empowerment

We create permanent employment through agriculture, livestock, fisheries, small enterprises, and value-added industries. Special emphasis is placed on youth, women, and persons with disabilities via training, micro-finance, and market access.

Palmyra Industry Development

A flagship initiative focused on revitalising the iconic Palmyra palm—the “celestial tree”—which is abundant in Sri Lanka’s Northern and Eastern regions. This resilient resource underpins the production of eco-friendly goods such as jaggery, sweets, flour, toddy, and traditional handicrafts, including baskets and mats, creating inclusive employment opportunities, particularly for women, through cooperative-based enterprises.

Development of Fisheries in the Rural Village

The development of fisheries in rural villages is a critical driver of inclusive and sustainable development in Sri Lanka, particularly in coastal, lagoon, and inland water-dependent communities.
We support and facilitate the development of Fisheries, which provide a primary source of income for thousands of rural households. Strengthening small-scale fisheries creates stable livelihoods for fishers, processors, traders, and ancillary workers, reducing poverty and seasonal unemployment.
Fish is an affordable and vital source of protein and micronutrients for rural families. Improved fisheries enhance local availability of nutritious food, contributing to better health outcomes, especially for children and vulnerable groups.
We believe the responsible fisheries development promotes sustainable harvesting, lagoon and tank management, and climate-resilient aquaculture, protecting ecosystems while ensuring long-term productivity. It is a holistic community development strategy that enhances food security, promotes gender inclusion, builds resilience, and supports sustainable rural transformation.
