POVERTY ELIMINATION
Civil War has made significant and far-reaching impacts on societies, economies, and individuals living in Northeast of Sri Lanka. The consequences of war devastating and long-lasting, affected various aspects of human life.
Pledge poverty elimination approach is to reduce and ultimately eradicating poverty in society. It focuses comprehensive and sustained efforts to alleviate the conditions of poverty and improve the well-being of individuals and communities affected by it. Here are some key aspects and approaches to poverty elimination:
Sustainable economic growth is crucial for poverty reduction. We work with the Governments and organizations focusing on promoting employment opportunities, encouraging entrepreneurship, and creating an enabling environment for local businesses to thrive. Investments in infrastructure and education play a significant role in stimulating economic development in the region.
Social safety nets are programs designed to aid and support to individuals and families living in poverty. It includes initiatives such as access to education and employment opportunities. These safety nets aim to protect vulnerable populations and alleviate immediate hardships.
By improving access to quality education, individuals can acquire knowledge, skills, and qualifications necessary for better job prospects and higher incomes.
We believe empowering women headed families through education, employment, and access to resources will help break the cycle of poverty. Gender-responsive policies and programs aim to address disparities and ensure equal rights and opportunities for all.
Sustainable Development (ESG Programs) align with sustainable development goals considering environmental sustainability, responsible resource management, and the protection of ecosystems. Balancing economic growth with environmental conservation ensures long-term benefits and reduces the risk of exacerbating poverty in the future (Mother for mother nature).

Active Involvement and Participation of Donors
Pledge poverty elimination requires active involvement and participation of donors, organizations, individuals and communities. Empowering marginalized groups, including the poor, by involving them in decision-making processes, promoting social cohesion, and fostering community-led development initiatives will have a positive impact on poverty reduction.
We support global collaboration, Pledge as a local implementation partner and an endorsed charity organization in Sri Lanka by the NGO secretariat. We are seeking support from developing nations through foreign aid, and trade agreements that promote equitable economic growth. International organizations and partnerships also play a vital role in coordinating efforts, sharing best practices, and mobilizing resources to tackle poverty In Sri Lanka.
Implementing robust systems and process to monitor the impact of charitable interventions and evaluate their effectiveness. This ensures accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in the pursuit of lasting change.
It’s important to note that poverty elimination is a complex and multifaceted challenge that requires a comprehensive and sustained approach. It involves addressing not only income poverty but also various interconnected dimensions, such as education, and environmental sustainability.
By focusing on long-term outcomes, together we can make a significant and enduring difference in the lives of individuals and communities, as well as address systemic issues and promote sustainable development on a broader scale.

We strongly believe all people should be able to live with dignity and have their basic needs met. We work towards addressing the underlying causes of poverty in North and East of Sri Lanka, many individuals, families and villages in terrible condition where little or no help reaching out to communities living in poverty conditions – We develop poverty elimination programs to address to strengthening local civil society organizations and community groups, is the most effective and sustainable way to create opportunities for people to meet their own development aspirations in the long term.
